The Bahamas National Pride Association (BNPA) is a nation wide non-profit educational organization founded in 1995 and is dedicated to improving waste handling in The Bahamas. As enshrined in our mission statement, we are committed to the development of positive attitudes and behavioural changes that will motivate all persons to conserve the natural resources while preserving and beautifying the physical environment. We realize that littering is behavioural in origin, therefore, we are enthusiastic about changing peoples’ attitude towards litter and waste handling; altering littering behaviour patterns and instilling a sense of community pride. Through our standing committees, interested citizens and governmental groups we are able to identify and develop instructive programs and projects aimed at combating and promoting pollution prevention on a continual basis which will result in altered littering behavioural patterns and pride.
